Celebrating Volunteers' Week 2019: connecting local parents

We couldn’t do what we do without our brilliant volunteers. Find out more about what they do and how you can get involved with your local branch.

NCT volunteers across the UK run approximately 750 different groups or activities each week. For any expectant or new parent, meeting others who are in a similar stage of parenting can make a real difference to how they feel about this major life change.

Volunteers during Volunteer's Week

Many parents tell us how they really looked forward to maternity leave and this special time with their babies, but they also felt surprised at how lonely they felt at times.

Our volunteers know this and are committed to making sure that activities are welcoming and family-friendly.

During June, we celebrated Volunteers’ Week. We simply could not reach as many parents as we do without the efforts of our volunteers. We’re so proud of them and grateful for everything they do.

Caroline is a Parent Support Coordinator for Reading NCT branch. She says: “I’m lucky that some of the other volunteers I’ve met have become some of my best friends”.
